“but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings as eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:3
Billy Graham once said, “Earth’s troubles fade in the light of heaven’s hope.” We live in troubled times with the coronavirus pandemic reminder present most everywhere one looks; TV, stores, and the worried eyes above masked faces. It has isolated the ill and elderly in their homes and care facilities. Recently a friend organized a prayer walk around the care facility in our community. We prayed, sang, and blasted praise music but more importantly I believe we brought hope. We hoped In Him to bring healing and peace. We saw residents smiling and waving out the window and staff people waving to us-eyes squinting in smiles above the masks. We felt heaven’s hope as we knew the Lord was with us in His desire to display the hope of heaven. We were strengthened by His presence and those around us. Most of the 25+ people who were present had tears of gratitude in their eyes. Because He was sweetly present to bring hope.
Remember, the Lord says: Not only do I bring hope-I am hope. I am the hope that does not disappoint. When you gather together in my name and ask in agreement it will be done. The troubles of the world grow dim in light of heaven as I renew and strengthen my people.
Prayer: Father, I prayer that you keep our eyes heavenward and renew our strength in whatever troubles this day may bring. Comfort your people with hope and the strength of your love. By your Spirit-in Jesus name.
What is the Lord saying to your heart?
